Co-Production
SYSPLEX Film’s Co-Production Role – Past, Present, and Future
In addition to producing its own films, SYSPLEX Film has been actively involved in international co-productions, collaborating with both Hungarian and foreign partners. Thanks to our experience and flexibility, we have successfully participated in a variety of projects, ranging from romantic comedies to thrillers and action films. We are always open to new partnerships, whether through developing joint projects or joining existing productions.
In this article, we present our past co-productions and explain how you can partner with us for a future project.
SYSPLEX’s Co-Produced Films
Over the years, SYSPLEX Film has contributed to several international productions, bringing expertise, technical resources, and financial solutions to the table. Among our past co-productions, Love Makers stands out as a romantic comedy featuring Daryl Hannah and Billy Zane, made for international distribution. In the action-thriller genre, Silent Zone is a post-apocalyptic survival film that blends elements of The Walking Dead, The Grey, and Mad Max; this English-language production was made in collaboration with FilmFinity and is set for release by Saban Films in 2025. Another major co-production is Twelve Toys of Christmas, a heartwarming English-language holiday film scheduled for worldwide release in 2025. Looking ahead, we are involved in Royal Christmas, set for release in 2026 through ACI Inspires, as well as The Forgotten Village, a supernatural thriller currently in pre-production. We are also co-producing Ian Bibian, an upcoming fantasy-adventure film in collaboration with Concept Studio, with shooting scheduled for June 2025.
Co-Production Opportunities
SYSPLEX Film participates in co-productions in two primary ways:
1. Seeking Co-Production Partners for Our Own Projects
We currently have several film projects in development, for which we are looking to collaborate with German, American, and French co-production partners. Our goal is to create commercially viable, high-quality productions for the international market.
2. Joining External Productions as a Co-Producer
We are open to joining film projects as a co-production partner, particularly those looking to shoot in Hungary. If we see strong business potential in a project, we don’t just provide production services—we can also invest as co-producers and contribute to financing.
How SYSPLEX Supports Its Co-Production Partners
1. Access to Non-Repayable Grants from the Hungarian National Film Institute (NFI)
If a film has Hungarian connections—such as local actors, crew, or thematic relevance—it may qualify for up to 79% funding, including:
- 30% Hungarian tax rebate
- Up to an additional 49% NFI grant

2. Technical and Post-Production Services
SYSPLEX Film has its own camera, lighting, and grip rental services, as well as a full post-production studio.
- Post-production services (VFX, color grading, mastering, sound post) can cover up to 20% of a film’s budget.
- When combined with the 30% tax rebate, we can help finance up to 50% of a film’s total production costs in Hungary.
